Paris (as in Pair E if you wanna be all sophisticated about it)

Troy, William and I went to Paris!! It was really fun. My Mom was over to visit and offered to keep the older two, so we took off with only backpacks. It was a lot of fun and now that we've figured out how easy it is to catch the trains and subways, we'd love for anyone to do the same if you come and visit us.

Notre Dame.

This is my smart-ass husband pretending to be amazed at all of the famous monuments. He didn't think this joke got old; as usual.

Arc de Triumph.

Eiffel Tower. We took the stairs up. It was a really good workout. We got there right at the end of daylight. It was cool to see it in both natural light and all lit up with the spotlights.

It was a neat sight to see in the skyline. However up close it's a lot of metal work and not that pretty when you're in the thick of it. The views were nice of the city though.

The Palace of Versailles - Hall of Mirrors. No metal framed baby carriers allowed here or anywhere in the palace!!! Holy crap, did that make our job a lot harder. William had no where to fall asleep and our arms were exhausted. The palace and gardens was really really beautiful.

Versailles main gate.

The Catacombes.

The famous Venus de Milo sculpture at the Louvre museum in Paris.

The Louvre building itself was a work of art. Everywhere you turned it was beautiful. AGAIN, Troy is a smart-ass. He did admit though that although he's not much of an "art guy" he's glad someone is doing the work of preseving the masterpieces. He then preceded to make fun of the nudity of all the statues. The more I try to infuse a little culture into this guy the more back-woods hillbilly he becomes. As a side note, we saw a blind guy at the Louvre...what the....Maybe neither of us is very mature when we both had to laugh at that.

Me really getting into the feeling of 2000 year old art.

It was pretty funny to see our tiny William in such a huge space. He really liked the sculptures. He got real excited pointing and talking to the carved people. He liked all the animals and babies he could spot too.

William just hanging out at the Louvre.

Troy on the move inside the glass pyramid at the Louvre.

A very tired Momma and a not so tired baby on the train back to London. William was a trooper though. We ran ourselves ragged to see everything we could in the 2.5 days we had in Paris. William logged a lot of hours in the backpack with little or no naps. He got a little screechy towards the end but all in all he did good for his first Eurotrip.
